Use your Highrise dropbox address to forward, cc, or bcc emails into your Highrise account. To find yours, click on “My info”.

Then click on the “Email dropbox” link to see your personal dropbox address.

Send the email to your Highrise dropbox address. When you send an email to the dropbox, Highrise receives it and attaches it to the right person. In this case, the email would be attached to Sonia Nelson.

Note: If you are forwarding an email, the body of the forwarded email must include the contact’s from address (e.g. “From: Jane Doe <jane.doe@hotmail.com>”). Without this “From:” part of the email, Highrise won’t be able to associate the email with the right contact. If your email client doesn’t include this automatically, you can always just manually insert “From: Jane Doe <jane.doe@hotmail.com>” at the top of the email. Highrise will take it from there.
Back to topYes, you can add a directive at the top of the email that tells Highrise which case or deal it belongs to. Add /case Litigation or /deal Service contract at the top of your message to attach the email to that case or deal — or a new one if it doesn't exist. When Highrise receives the email, it will enter it into the proper case or deal (or create a new one if it doesn't exist yet).

Highrise will receive the email and automatically attach it to the correct case.

Highrise will put this email in the "Olympics" deal (or create that deal if it doesn't exist yet).

Highrise will put this email in the "North May Lease" case (or create that case if it doesn't exist yet).
There's another option too. Each case or deal also has a unique dropbox email address you can use. (Note: The dropbox address is unique to each user so don't share your address with someone else.)
To find your unique dropbox address for a case or deal, go to a case or deal page and look in the sidebar. You'll see a block that says This case has an email dropbox. An email address will be listed. This is your own unique dropbox for this case or deal.

Forwarding, cc'ing, or bcc'ing an email to this unique case or deal dropbox will automatically attach the email to this case or deal.
Note: If you are forwarding an email, the body of the forwarded email must include the contact’s from address (e.g. “From: Jane Doe <jane.doe@hotmail.com>”). Back to topYes. Forward an email to your dropbox and insert a line at the top of the email that says: /private. This will make the email private (i.e. you're the only one who can view it in Highrise). You do NOT need to change the subject or email address.

Highrise will make this email private so only you can view it.
If you'd like to make the message private to a specific group, you can do that too. (Learn more about groups.) Forward an email to your dropbox and insert a line at the top of the email that indicates which group you want to be able to view the message. So if the name of the group is "Marketing" you would add a line that says /private Marketing. That means only people in the Marketing group will be able to view the email in Highrise. If the group name is "Human Resources" then you would put /private Human Resources.

Highrise will make this email private to the "Marketing" group so only members in that group can view it.
Yes, there are two ways to attach an email to a new contact.
#1) If you receive an email from a new contact that you want to add to Highrise: Forward it to your Highrise dropbox address. Highrise will automatically create a new contact for the original sender of the email and attach the email to that person.
#2) If you want to send an email to a new contact and add it to Highrise: Send the email to the person and copy (bcc or cc) Highrise. Highrise will automatically create a new contact from the person in the “To:” field and attach the email to that person.
Back to topCreate an email with just a subject and address it to your special Task+Date address (example: task+today@12345678.highrisehq.com). Possible time slots include Task+Today, Task+Tomorrow, Task+ThisWeek, Task+NextWeek, and Task+Later.

The subject of the email then becomes a task in Highrise with the date you selected.

Yes. Address the email to your special Dropbox+Date address (example: Dropbox+today@12345678.highrisehq.com). Possible time slots include Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, and Later.

The subject line will become the task and there will be a link to the associated email. The email will be attached to the sender of the original email.

Any registered user can send emails to Highrise. (Note: Your email address must match one of the emails associated with your Highrise account.)
Back to topClick on the “My info” link in the upper right of the screen.

Then click on the “Email dropbox” link. Your personal dropbox address will be in the yellow bar. Click the “Generate a new address” link that shows up underneath the email.

If you change your Highrise URL, your dropbox address will change too. To find your new dropbox address, click on “My info” and then click on the “Email dropbox” link to see your new personal dropbox address (see screenshots).
Back to topAt this stage, the best way to get this information into Highrise is to create a new note and paste the text of the email there. (Note: Don’t forward your sent message to Highrise. If you do, the email will be attached to you instead of the email’s recipient.)
Back to topHighrise is optimized to work with plain-text emails that have a “From:” line in the body of the message (e.g. “From: Jane Doe <janedoe@hotmail.com>”). If you forward an HTML formatted email, Highrise may not be able to extract the original sender and your email may bounce back. Here’s one way to make sure you don’t send HTML formatted emails to Highrise: In your email program, add your dropbox to the address book and indicate that this recipient wants text messages not HTML.
