Yes, data is backed up nightly and written to multiple disks instantly. We can perform full backup recovery in the event of a system-wide emergency. Our hardware is also fully redundant so even if one disk or server fails, nothing will be lost and the system will not go down. Our uptime is over 99%.
Back to topWe take all reasonable precautions to keep your information safe and secure. Our state-of-the-art redundant server cluster is hosted and professionally managed by Rackspace, a recognized leader in high-end hosting. You can read about their Zero-Downtime network and data center or read more about their data center to learn about physical security, power backup, and network routing equipment. We also use Amazon's S3 storage technology to store and serve uploaded files.
Back to topWe don't offer installable versions of any of our products. Our products are available only as hosted products. We maintain the servers, the security, and all the updates/improvements so you don't have to worry about anything.
Back to topWe provide unlimited support via email for our paying customers, but we don't provide support over the phone. We do our best to respond to every email within just a few hours of receiving it. We also make sure one of the company owners or a lead developer answers each email. We do not outsource our support overseas or employ low paid, unqualified support staff.
Back to topEveryone who uses Highrise uses the same version of Highrise. While we don't offer customization options, you can always change the colors, upload your own logo, and set up custom categories for your account.
Back to topHighrise is a month-to-month, pay-as-you-go service so we don't provide refunds. You are billed every 30 days for the service. You can cancel the service at any time and you won't be charged again, but you are responsible for any charges already incurred.
Back to topWe believe everyone is entitled to the best possible price we can offer. Those are the prices you'll find on the signup page. Our prices are among the lowest in the industry (our regular prices are actually lower than many competitor's special non-profit pricing). We do make exceptions based on extraordinary circumstances (e.g. we offered free Basecamp accounts to rescue workers at their request during Hurricane Katrina to help coordinate supplies and other related operations).
Back to topAt this time the Highrise interface is only available in English, but Highrise does allow UTF-8 character sets so you can enter content in many languages including Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Localization and translation of the interface is something we may consider at a future date.
Back to topEvery Highrise plan features SSL on all connections. SSL is an acronym for "Secure Socket Layer", a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. The protocol allows Highrise to securely communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or communications forgery. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as Amazon.com to keep your information safe and secure during transactions. In Highrise's case, SSL keeps your communications absolutely secure (Highrise's normal password protection keeps your information private, but SSL keeps it private and secure). Find out more about SSL. (Also, all Highrise accounts are password protected for your security.)
Back to topA deal is a money-based project you have up for bid or contract. Deals let you keep track of proposals, bids, RFPs, and project sales right inside Highrise. Highrise has always been great for keeping track of the people you do business with, but now with Deals you can keep track of the business transactions as well.
Now you’ll know which proposals/bids are pending, which you’ve won, and which you’ve lost. Enter notes about the deals, attach proposals or contracts to the deals, and keep a log of any changes. Now you’ll know how much money a particular customer has paid you over time or how much you’ve left on the table from deals you didn’t win.
You can easily add a contact's Twitter feed by editing their contact info and entering their Twitter username in the Twitter field. If they have a public Twitter feed, you'll be able to see their most recent updates on their contact page.
Twitter integration allows you to have an even better view of what's on a person's mind, what they're saying right now, and what their current interests are.
This is especially handy if you check a person's Highrise page before contacting them again. Now you can check your previous communications history as well as what they are tweeting right now. Tweets are great conversation starters that show you're paying attention to what's going on in their world.
Here's a video to show you how easy it is to add Twitter info for a contact:
If you can’t find the answers you need here, you can always contact support and we’ll get back to you within a few hours.
